Life In Rajkot

Rajkot is a district – of total 26 districts of Gujarat with approximate population of 1.6 million (2012). The area of this district is expanded up to 11203 kilometer square.

Local Languages
Being part of the Gujarat, people of Rajkot speaks Gujarati language in their typical Kathiyavadi ascent. Other than Gujarati, various languages are spoken like Hindi, Rajasthani, Tamil, Marathi, Sindhi etc. by different people.


Traditional dresses of Gujarat are – Dhoti and Kurta for Male and Choli for Females. In Rajkot, you can see people wearing traditional clothes along with western clothes including jeans, t-shirt etc. Normally, boys wear casuals while girls/ ladies wear Gujarati Saree, Salwar Kurta. Along with study, people of Rajkot also have interest in various sports. In sports, craze of cricket is the most among youngsters as well as adults. Also city has 2 cricket stadiums in which many important matches have been played.
Rajkot is well connected through roads as well as Rail. Also city has it’s airport, with daily flights.
